Japanese Grand Prix Formula 1 2024, what a race!!?? So much happened in 53 laps, fabulous overtakes, pit overtakes, some entertaining radio messages, and others.
Max Verstappen won the 34th race of his career. Checo finished behind Max while Carlos finished third on the podium.
Top 5 moments of the Japanese Grand Prix
1. Yuki Tsunoda overtakes at S Curve
Homeboy Yuki Tsunoda scored a point after some awesome overtakes at turn 1 and S Curve. The overtakes at S Curve were very unexpected and multiple times at the same turn.
At lap 23, multiple cars entered the pit for tyre change and it was a brilliant pit stop by the RB team for Yuki, resulting in him overtaking in the pit.
2. Lance Stroll overtakes at S Curve
Lance was having a good race according to his qualifying session. He did some remarkable overtakes at S Curve multiple times. He finished outside the points behind Hulkenberg.
He did complain about the straight-line speed over the radio.
Aston’s brought some updates on the track but it didn’t push them forward that much. Currently, they are battling Mercedes, behind the car on orange the McLaren.
3. Multiple overtake
Some key overtakes apart from Yuki’s and Stroll’s S Curve overtake.
Lando Norris overtakes Hamilton at turn 1 from outside, and then another Silver Arrows driver George at turn 1 multiple times.
Max passes Leclerc at turn 1 from inside for the lead of the race.
Carlos overtakes Mercedes drivers at Spoon Curve in different laps.
At Casino Triangle, Perez makes a daring move to overtake Lando.
With fresher rubber, Carlos slices past Leclerc on the final laps to claim a podium finish.
4. Hamilton voluntarily swaps position with George
Hamilton was not having a good race. He knew his pace was slow (maybe due to some damage). So, he asked over the radio to swap with George to play the team game so that George could easily overtake and save his tyres. At lap 13, Hamilton let George pass.
Hamilton finished 9th and George finished 7th.
5. Carlos Sainz
Although Carlos does not have a seat for the next season, he is having the best season in the Ferrari. He is sailing like a smooth ship in an ocean without any resistance. He entertained us with some smooth overtakes, the turn 1 overtake of Charles was a bit cheeky.

Some other key moments
Multiple cars entered the pit for fresh tyres. Magnussen, Bottas, Logan Stroll and Yuki entered the pit. RB pit crew were able to put the fresh tyres on Yuki’s car quickly and he was able to overtake in the pit.
Daniel and Albon crashed in the first lap, causing a red flag.
Zhou retired because of the gearbox issue. He will be racing at his home track at the next grand prix.
Back-to-back blow-ups for Williams, as one of the cars crashed this weekend after a previous race incident.
Each team were executing different strategies for each driver which made the race amazing.
